Some of Conway Public Schools' Art Students can now see their artwork in print!
Some 40 works from Becky Thornton's Art students are pictured in the Downey Publishing Phone Book. The theme was "What Makes My Town Special."
Their work, as well as work from other schools is published throughout the yellow pages.
Students drew a picture on a vertical plane and colored it in either colored pencils or crayon.
Thornton then sent all of the work that was completed to the company in Texas.
"They have a panel of commercial artists who choose the work for the cover and the yellow pages," says Thornton. "It was fun to flip through the book to mark all the pages where my students' work was featured."
Thornton says she was delighted to see Conway's students recognized in this way.
The winning student can win $500 for the cover art and $250 for second and third place.
