A Conway High School Junior is honored nationally among her peers and recognized for excellence in business leadership.
Equasya Samuels, a junior from CHS, won first place in the nation in the Securities and Investments event at the Future Business Leaders of America National Leadership Conference this Summer. She was awarded a first place trophy and $1000 at the FBLA Awards of Excellence Program in July.
The Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) National Leadership Conference was held June 29–July 2 in Atlanta.
Participants from across the United States and abroad attended this exciting conference to enhance their business skills, expand their networks, and participate in more than 65 business and business-related competitive events.
“Equasya is an exceptional student”, said adviser Alyce Hardee, “She came to me in the fall about competing in FBLA. Even though we do not have a specific class for Securities and Investments, she was in Accounting 1 and Entrepreneurship so we chose this event for her to compete in. She competed at the district and state level placing in both events to be eligible for nationals. She spent countless hours preparing. I am so very proud of her and her accomplishment.”
