They learned that the event takes place during the Fiestas de San Fermin on July 6th-14th and only lasts a few intense minutes as the bulls race from outside the city into the bullring.
It is only a distance of 1/2 a mile, but it is highly dangerous.
"We had several courageous "bulls" chase our bravest Spanish club members around the football field until only one human was left standing," says Megan King, Spanish Teacher.
"We try and focus on cultural activities in the Spanish-speaking world and the "Running of the Bulls" is one of the most well-known. It is also one that we don't get to talk about in most of our Spanish classes since it occurs in the summer... But since the weather has been so lovely, it was a great time to get out and enjoy the fresh air while learning something new!"
