Emily Brown and Sarah Dussex, along with their teammates from Vilonia Schools, recently competed at the Arkansas Culinary School’s ProStart Competition in the area of Restaurant Management. During this competition, students created a restaurant concept, "from the ground up”. Then they presented their concept to judges much like in the show “Shark Tank”. Their team won the competition and have qualified to compete nationally, in Anaheim, CA on April 17-21.
Winning this competition also helped these four students receive scholarship offers of a combined $96,000!
Career Center Supervisor Jason Lawrence says Emily and Sarah decided last year that they wanted to win this competition in order to obtain these scholarships. Now they have achieved their goal.
"We are very proud of these students and look forward to seeing how far they can take this opportunity, said Lawrence."
