16 Conway High School Choir Students have earned a chair at the Arkansas All-State Music Conference.
To even qualify for All-State, a student must first earn a spot in the top 20 chairs at All-Region competition.
Over 1,100 students auditioned at all-Region.
Choral Director Sam Huskey says this is a big commitment for his students.
"Those students who qualified worked countless hours during and after school working on the all-state music," says Huskey. "They auditioned in Dover on February 3rd along with 1,000+ kids from across the state. I am very proud of their work."
The 16 students who earned a chair at All-State is the largest number of Conway choir students in recent history - at least the past 25 years.
About 800 students make All-State from across the state of Arkansas.
The following students earned a spot in the Arkansas All-State Choir: Aryana Gardner, Briya Alford, Maggie Carroll, Hannah Smith, Taylor Williams, Brittany Baker, Kaymon Neal, Epi Torres, Seth Guidry, Asher Owen, Nash Roach (alternate), Ben Thompson, Austin Henderson, Archer Murray, Alec Buddenberg, and Joel Fountain (not pictured).
