A Bob Courtway Middle School teacher is present as the Arkansas Legislature votes to honor some of the state's finest teachers. Last week, House Resolution 1025 came before the Arkansas House of Representatives at the State Capitol. This particular resolution recognizes and honors Arkansas National Board Certified teachers. The House of Representatives unanimously voted in favor of this resolution. 7th Grade Teacher Melinda Francis was able to attend this important moment in Arkansas's educational history. "Thanks to Dr. Lasker I was able to be there for this moment. I am so very thankful to work in a district that supports its teachers and encourages us to undergo the National Board certification process, which has personally taught me how to make a significant impact on student achievement." says Francis. "We received a standing ovation by the house after the vote."
