GT Students at Ellen Smith Elementary School are using different tools and technology to challenge their thinking.
Some students work on the "OSMO" system, which outfits the ipad with educational games. The purchase of the "OSMO" also provides letter tiles and Tangram manipulatives, which GT Teachers use to enforce special recognition and higher level thinking skills like problem solving and critical thinking.
Matt loves it...saying, “I used the shapes to make a bunny. The hand at the bottom told me what to do. It was a lot of fun.”
The OSMO also comes with activities for word work, and an engineering type function where you have to use ordinary items to get balls from one spot to another for points. You can use things like scissors, ink pens, rubber bands, or even paper clips or your hands to get the balls where they need to be.
