Students at Julia Lee Moore had some special guests for their end-of-the-year Field Day yesterday. The Conway Police Department, Fire Department, MEMS, as well as UAMS' "Arkansas Saves" Med Flight Helicopter joined forces to give the kids an afternoon to remember!
They were able to tour the helicopter, ambulance, fire truck and police motorcycles, as the personnel told them about each profession.
"The kids were amazed to see the helicopter fly over and land right before their eyes," says Jennifer Epps, Julia Lee Moore's Library Media Specialist. They loved when they would turn on the lights and sirens. They also asked some really good questions."
JLM's had more fun activities for the kids as well. Two teachers participated in the dunking booth, which was a big hit! Students also played games of dodge ball, noodle freeze tag, egg toss, sack races, hula hooping, chase games, parachute games, and best of all water games. Students were given a choice of three snow cone flavors to end the day.
"They had so much fun getting wet and wild in our full day of fun field activities."
