The garden project at Carolyn Lewis Elementary School saw another milestone this week.
The CLES Garden Committee, 1st Semester Science Club, and their families had a work day on Saturday to complete another step in building the school garden.
Ten raised beds were constructed and filled with soil, so students can begin planting in the spring.
The garden project is the result of a Conway Public Schools' Foundation grant received by Instructional Facilitator Amanda Krell.
"This whole process has been so exciting!" Krell says. "I am extremely grateful for everyone who volunteered to build the school garden and for the 4th grade students who created so many wonderful garden designs for the committee to choose from. We have looked forward to this day since we received the grant."
The next phase of the project is up to Carolyn Lewis students…the students will get to vote for what they want to plant in their gardens and plant the seeds to be transferred in the spring.
