Theodore Jones Kindergartners were transformed into "All the King's Horses and All the King's Men" for a special literacy lesson!
The students participated in the school's 5th Annual Humpty Dumpty Launch.
After studying the nursery rhyme "Humpty Dumpty" for one week, students donned crowns and marched to the playground for some fun.
Students experimented with force and motion as eggs were launched into the air using a 3-man-slingshot.
Even the teachers got in on the action!
They say it didn't take long for students to realize that pulling the slingshot further backwards resulted in an egg flying higher or further away.
"We discussed what we noticed about the lesson and several mentioned that they realized if the slingshot was pulled down it made the egg go higher and if it was pulled back it way far away to the fence," says Randi House, Kindergarten Teacher. "Some of the kids said that Mr. Howse launched an egg so high it hit the clouds. Another said that seeing eggs explode at school was the best day ever."
