Theodore Jones' Art Teacher Sally Allinder has been honored with a special award.
Allinder was awarded the Outstanding Art Educator Award from the Conway Alliance for the Arts.
She was among 6 other educators nominated for this prestigious award.
Principal Tammy Woosley says Allinder is more than deserving of the recognition.
"I nominated Sally because in my mind, we are not always able to adequately recognize and award our teachers to the degree they deserve. But an award of this caliber certainly can show how exemplary Sally is as an art teacher," Woosley said.
"Although many of our children have no background experiences with art, she has a way of teaching them the fundamentals that build each year and benefit them if they choose to continue being an artist."
Each year, Allinder has students place and many win at the local, regional, state, and national level. She has been a teacher for a total of 27 years, teaching art at Theodore Jones Elementary School for the last 12.
