More than 500 students from several district schools packed into Ruth Doyle Middle School to experience the excitement and wonder of science! The school's annual Math and Science night, known as STEM Night (science, technology, engineering, and math) was a huge success!
During this event, parents and students were treated to attractions such as: LR Zoo showcasing an opossum, penguin, and bald eagle; Raptor Rehab of Central Arkansas showcasing owls and hawks, Bigfoot Hunter Robert Swain and his casts/molds of bigfoot tracks, Representative Stephen Meeks and his NASA memorable and telescope, Hurley Chiropractic featuring Dr. Amanda Bledsoe and their spinal scans, NSTA Club of UCA and their Giant Inflatable Cell, UCA Chemistry Club and their wild and crazy chemistry experiments, UCA Biology Class and their protoscopes, Earthquake scientist and Geologist David Johnston and Sandra Chandler and their earthquake data and rock samples, Arkansas Eye Care group featuring Dr. Eric Robbins and Hunter Scaife and their dissections of the eye, and Groovy Smiles Pediatric Dentistry featuring Dr. Aaron K. Forrester and his tooth scales. Many kids may be inspired to follow in the footsteps of some of the guests and pursue future careers in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and math!
