Four Wampus Cat Senior Football Players made quite an impression on some Conway Elementary School Students last Friday.
The players were special guests at Marguerite Vann Elementary School's Character Assembly on Trustworthiness.
The young men shared stories with the students about trust and led demonstrations about trustworthiness, and why this character trait is so important.
They talked about the real-life example of a football team and how they all have to work together and trust one another.
After the assembly, they visited a Kindergarten & 1st grade classroom, where they engaged students in meaningful conversations, answered questions, & assisted students in writing.
Then they stayed for Kindergarten lunch.
Marguerite Vann's Counselor says this was a morning the students won't soon forget. "I can only say one word about these boys: IMPRESSED!" says Heather Leavell, "The students were star struck. We would love to have them back any time."
Head Football Coach Clint Ashcraft says this was a great chance for the players to see what major role models they are for others.
"Anytime our guys get a chance to speak to younger kids, we jump at it," Ashcraft said. "We tell our players all the time that little ones are watching them. This is a great way to be a positive role model for the younger students that look up to them."
