With Thanksgiving right around the corner, First Graders at Woodrow Cummins Elementary School have been talking turkey!
Mrs. Lakey's first graders have been working on opinion writing this week.
After reading Turkey Trouble by Wendi Silvano, the students imagined ways that turkeys might disguise themselves to avoid being the main course next week.
Next, the students wrote about their ideas and followed up with a fun art project to show off their fowl designs.
They worked together at home with their families to disguise the turkeys.
"They turned out so cute and the families loved being able to be creative together," said Mrs. Lakey.
