The Farm to School Program within Conway Public Schools began in 2015 when Food Service was awarded a prestigious USDA Farm to School Planning Grant. The grant allowed Food Service to construct raised garden beds at schools throughout the district and establish a central food procesing kitchen at Conway High School where the district can prepare and serve locally grown food items to students.

In 2018, Food Service was awarded a USDA Farm to School Implementation Grant to grow the Farm to School Program throughout the district. This grant funded an exapansion of school gardens at individual schools, the purchase of equipment for the central processing kitchen, and taste tests for students.

Food Service is committed to supporting local farmers through the purchase of local produce and other food items for students. Food Service has partnered with serveral local farmers, including Ralston Family Farms and BAR S-T Ranch.
