  • CSMS: Chromebook & Charger Responsibility

We are having problems with some students repeatedly forgetting to bring essential supplies with them to school. This includes fully charged Chromebooks and charging cords. As you know, students are responsible for bringing these essential supplies to school on a daily basis. We want to provide grace and flexibility, but we simply cannot have students developing a habit of not being prepared for school by neglecting to bring the essential supplies to school. We want everyone to understand that you are responsible for bringing these supplies to school. If a student has insurance, they need to see Mrs. Rehm where the charger can get replaced. If they don't have insurance chargers cost $40. See Mrs. Rehm with your money to order one. ACT Aspire testing begins, Monday April 18th and it is a must that these two items be brought to school each day for testing. Thank you for helping us ensure that you are successfully prepared for class.

This week is National School Counselor Appreciation Week. Ms. Belinda Claunch and Ms. Lena Priest do an amazing job supporting our students in so many ways…not just here at school but even when there is an issue outside of school. They engage and support parents to help them with attendance and achievement as well as social emotional issues. Our school is fortunate to have them on the team. Thank you Ms. Claunch and Ms. Priest for everything you do.
We are also fortunate to have outside providers that come to school and provide some of our students with dedicated school-based counseling services. Ms. Kat Osment from Counseling Associates and Ms. Charlanda Ford from Pinnacle Pointe are in our school on a weekly basis to provide support to specific students in need. Also, they are an invaluable resource to our school counseling team and administrators in times of crisis with students. Thank you, Ms. Osment and Ms. Ford, for supporting our school!

  • CSMS: Winter Dance

The CSMS Winter Dance is this Friday night, December 3, from 5:30pm-7:30pm at the CSMS Gymnasium. The theme for the dance is Winter Wonderland. Tickets are $3 when purchased ahead of time and are $5 at the door. The dance is open for CSMS students only. Concessions will be available for purchase.

Students should be aware that dress code must be followed when considering attire to be worn. Many students will consider normal “Sunday dress” to be appropriate attire for the dance. Please note that students will be dismissed from the dance and forfeit admittance if dress code is violated.

Drop-off must take place no earlier than 5:15pm and pick-up must occur promptly at the end of the dance at 7:30pm. To drop-off and pick-up, patrons will follow the normal car rider traffic pattern (travel from College Avenue, down Hubbard Road and curve around Carl Stuart Road, into CSMS car rider line, and then turn right by the CSMS building toward the large gym). Vehicles will drop-off and pick-up directly in front of the large gym. Once drop off and pick up has occurred, patrons will circle around the buses and move back down Hubbard Road toward College Avenue. A map is provided that will show the route to take. Parents should have their car rider number ready to help with pick-up.

We are looking forward to providing students with this social opportunity. Please note that all school rules are applicable while students are attending this event and any poor choice made by students will result in disciplinary action. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at the school at your earliest convenience.

Wednesday, October 20--Report Cards distributed to students during 6th period

The CSMS Boys’ Football Team trounced Courtway this past Monday night with a 22-6 win. Tonight they take on Benton in the hopes of continuing their winning streak. Great job, boys!

We have the results from All Region Choir auditions this weekend! Our 7th graders, along with 1,000 other students in Central Arkansas, auditioned against 8th and 9th graders for a spot in the All Region Choir! I am so proud of all students who auditioned and dedicated themselves to this process.

(Students with a * by their names made in the top TEN chairs! This is huge - especially as a 7th grader!)
    Tyson G.*, Emerie T.*, Jasmine D.*, McKenzley S.*, Coleson A.*, Haddon K., Dylan S., Lily C., Brooklyn F., Ella H., and Jenna D.

    Alternates
    Jeffrey T., Jaylee M., Laney C., Cora H.

Most of our alternates are high chair alternates meaning they will most likely also get placed in the All Region choir over the next couple of weeks! Here is a little CSMS pride 🙂: All four middle schools combined had 14 students placed in the choir. 11 of the 14 are from CSMS with even more potentially placed in the coming weeks! Our kiddos are pretty amazing. Thank you all for your continued support of the Arts.

Starting Monday, August 30 in the morning Carl Stuart Road will be a one way street starting at 7 a.m. It had been a one way street starting at 7:30 a.m. The reason for this change is because Vann does not start unloading until 7:30 a.m. which is backing up traffic on both sides of Carl Stuart Road. When both lanes are inhabited and cars enter going eastbound it creates traffic problems.
