In case you didn't know, a fun fact is that the proceeds from the Hungry Howie's Pizza Nights help to offset these costs. PTO will cater a meal on Wednesday but we need your help to provide desserts, drinks and a full meal on Thursday. Please see the sign-up genius link below for ways that you can help contribute. TIA!

Our VIP Dance is this Thursday from 5:30-7:00 p.m. We are so excited to see your dance moves! As a reminder, this event is designed to be a fun, special time for a student and an ADULT (16 years or older) VIP guest. While we want the students to have fun with their friends and classmates, we are not encouraging students to ask fellow students to the dance as their guest. As a reminder, any student who attends the dance is required to have an adult VIP guest with them for the entirety of the time that they attend the event. Additionally, come comfy or dressed in your best! Attire is flexible but should be appropriate! As mentioned last week in the Cat Courier, when you arrive, all students and VIP guests will enter through the main entrance way at the front of the school. After signing in, if your child is in grades kindergarten – 2nd grade, you will proceed to the café and if your child is in 3rd – 4th grade you will proceed to the gym. Please plan to carpool, but we have developed a VIP Dance Parking Map (see attached) to help you plan as we do our best to accommodate parking to the best of our ability. We will be selling flower stems and candybars from our fundraiser for $1 each but please note that only CASH payments will be accepted. We will also have water available for attendees. Please be patient and considerate of others during our event and reflect the C.A.T.S character traits that we teach our students each day (Caring, Able, Trustworthy and Safe).

CLE Families, we hope that you have saved the date for our VIP dance that will be next Thursday, February 23rd! VIP stands for Very Important Person, and we are looking forward to meeting your student’s VIP, whether that be mom, dad, aunt, uncle, family friend, sister, etc. Basically, each student is allowed to bring one adult (16 years or older) to the dance. Students must have a supervising adult to attend the dance. If you have a child in both sections, then you are more than welcome to switch halfway through or whenever best fits your schedule.
PTO will be helping to host this fun event which will kick off at 5:30 p.m. and will end at 7:00 p.m. When you arrive, all students and VIP guests will enter through the main entrance way at the front of the school. After signing in, if your child is in grades kindergarten – 2nd grade, you will proceed to the café and if your child is in 3rd – 4th grade you will proceed to the gym. CLE families, we want to let you know that, in accordance with district and state guidelines, we conducted our active intruder drill this morning. Students were prepared for the drill in an age appropriate manner and the utmost sensitivity was used in conversations before, during and after the drill. Our staff and students did a wonderful job reacting quickly and while we hope that we never have to utilize this practice, we are appreciative of the opportunity to at least be prepared.

In an effort to ensure the safety of our students and staff, students that ride Bus 71 will be late to depart from CLE. These students will also likely be riding another bus number for, at least, this afternoon. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

CLE Families: Due to the high success of moving our morning drop off line to the back loop, we have decided to move our afternoon pick up to the back loop. This alleviates many issues for us. The crosswalk will no longer hold up the line, loading zones are much safer, and it allows our traffic off of Old Military to turn left. This will begin Thursday, September 1. Thank you so much for your patience and support while we have worked through the logistics of creating the safest and most efficient drop off and pick up procedures.

See the attached graphic about lunch prices and payment options. Thank you!

CLE families: Thank you so much for all of your patience and understanding as we have adjusted our car rider procedures this past week! This morning, our students, staff and community members were much safer as the traffic on Old Military, and in our parking lot, was much more organized and efficient. Please be sure that as you pull around the building, that your child is preparing to exit the vehicle by unbuckling and getting their backpack/belongings on and collected. Also, please be sure to pull all the way up to the gate so that we can have 6 cars, at minimum, unloading. Again, thank you for all of your patience and understanding!

CLE Families: Attached through the link below is this year's 1st volume of the Cat Courier. We hope that every week you will read this newsletter to not only see what is happening in your child's classroom but our school as a whole! For instance, this week we have a lot of changes with drop off and dismissal procedures as well as lot of fun information about t-shirt orders, social media and dress up days! We hope that you have a great weekend and we look forward to seeing you on Monday. https://www.smore.com/hk1c8

Please do not move cones that are placed in the parking lot areas in the afternoon. These are placed for a reason to help keep our students safe and to keep traffic flowing in the correct areas. Also, kindergarten car rider families are not permitted to pull through the back playground until after 2:45 as we still have students enjoying recess in the afternoon. Thank you.
-
CLE kindergarten families, please be watching for a staff member to direct you around the 1st-4th pick up line. Your car rider number will be entered by the back gates before pulling around the building.
