Conway High School's Coding Team Triumphs Again, Securing Back-to-Back Wins at All-State Competition

Conway, Arkansas - April 22, 2024 - The victory march continues for Conway High School's formidable coding team, clinching the title at the All-State Coding Competition for the second consecutive year.  The Wampus Cat Coding team of Ellie Feng, Thomas Coolidge, and Hudston Ledbetter has once again emerged victorious in a field of fierce competitors, showcasing their unrivaled skills and commitment to excellence.

The All-State Coding Competition, hosted by the Arkansas Department of Education Office of Computer Science, celebrated its 8th annual event this year. Drawing in top talent from across the state, the competition saw participation from over 400 competitors, representing schools renowned for their prowess in the realm of coding and programming.

In a thrilling showdown, Ellie Feng, Thomas Coolidge, and Hudston Ledbetter's team rose to the occasion, demonstrating not only technical proficiency but also exceptional teamwork and problem-solving abilities. Their dedication and resilience propelled them to the top, outshining their peers and securing their status as champions once again.

It's worth noting that this year's competition was particularly fierce, with the top 17 teams fiercely contending for the coveted title. Despite the stiff competition, Ellie Feng, Thomas Coolidge, and Hudston Ledbetter's team maintained their composure and delivered outstanding performances, leaving a lasting impression.

We are immensely proud of Ellie, Thomas, and Hudston, not only for their remarkable talent but also for their unwavering determination and teamwork. Their success is a testament to their hard work and dedication, as well as to the supportive environment fostered at Conway High School.

Furthermore, Conway High School's achievement of winning the All-State Coding Competition for the third time in eight years is a remarkable milestone. It speaks volumes about the caliber of our students and the strength of our Computer Science Department of Kimberly Raup, Department Chairperson, Jennifer Abels, Antia Cegers-Coleman, Remington Griffith, and Mark Mitchell.
