Conway, Arkansas - April 25th, 2024 - The Conway Public School District proudly announces the appointment of Greg Hughes as the new Athletic Director. With a prestigious career spanning over two decades within the district, Hughes brings a wealth of experience and a profound commitment to the advancement of athletics and student development.
Having served in various capacities within the district since 2002, Hughes has left a lasting mark on Conway's athletic landscape. His tenure includes coaching football for 18 years, with three years as Defensive Coordinator, as well as coaching Girls Track for 18 years, culminating in six years as Head Coach. Additionally, he has dedicated three years as Assistant Athletic Director and served a year as Dean of Students.
Reflecting on his appointment, Hughes expressed his eagerness to build upon the foundation laid by his predecessors, stating, "I am looking forward to building on the success that the previous Athletic Director's have developed here in Conway. Coach Bolding, Coach Daniels, and Coach Ashcraft have made Conway Athletics one of the top athletic programs in Arkansas. Our job now is to keep pushing ourselves and growing the programs to make it the best, not just 'one of the best'."
