Conway, AR – September 02, 2025 – The Conway Public School District (CPSD) School Board has officially announced the opening of the Superintendent position and the initiation of a comprehensive search process to identify the District’s next leader.
The Superintendent serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the District, providing vision, direction, and oversight for academic achievement, fiscal responsibility, community engagement, and staff development. The Board is seeking an inspiring, student-centered leader who demonstrates exceptional integrity, operational expertise, and the ability to unite diverse stakeholders around a shared vision of excellence.
The Board has asked Dr. Jeff D. Standridge, Strategic Advisor to the District, to guide this process, who has also recommended the appointment of a Superintendent Search Advisory Committee. This Committee, representing parents, students, teachers, staff, community leaders, and higher education partners, will support the Board in recruiting and screening candidates and will provide rubric-based feedback on applicants. While the Committee will serve in an advisory capacity, the final selection authority rests solely with the Board.
“We recognize that the choice of Superintendent is one of the most significant decisions a School Board makes,” said Sheila Franklin, President of the CPSD School Board. “By engaging a broad-based Search Advisory Committee, we are ensuring that this process reflects the values of transparency, fairness, and community involvement.”
The search process will include statewide and national recruitment, with applications accepted through October 26, 2025. Semi-finalist interviews are likely to occur in November, with finalist interviews to follow in December and January. The Board expects to announce the new Superintendent mid January 2026.
