new board member recognition ashley lyon picture

Conway, Ark. — Conway Public Schools is proud to welcome Ashley Lyon as the newest member of the Conway Board of Education, representing Zone 2. Lyon was officially sworn in and attended her first school board meeting this past Tuesday, beginning her service to the district and community. She will serve a six-year term through 2032.

A wife, mother, and new grandmother, Lyon has called Conway home for nearly twenty years. Originally from Texas, she has become deeply connected to the community and passionate about supporting local schools and students.

Lyon holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Advertising with a minor in Marketing from Sam Houston State University and a Master of Education in Higher Education with a Student Affairs emphasis from the University of North Texas. Professionally, she works as a local Realtor and remains actively engaged in the Conway community.

As a parent in the Conway School District, Lyon has long been involved in supporting students and staff. She has served on PTO boards at her children’s schools, volunteered as a substitute, and is serving as President of the Conway Band Boosters, where she helps support the district’s music programs and student musicians.

Following her first meeting as a board member, Lyon shared her excitement about the opportunity to serve.

“I’m honored to begin serving the students, staff, and families of Conway Public Schools,” Lyon said. “Tonight was quite the first experience, but I’m grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such a dedicated group of leaders who obviously care so much about our schools and our community.”

Conway Public Schools looks forward to Lyon’s leadership and service as the board continues its work to support student success and strengthen the district for years to come.
