This week, Conway High School had the privilege of hosting more than 300 science, math, and English teachers from across Arkansas, as well as many of our own educators, for professional development through Arkansas AIMS. It was an outstanding opportunity to showcase our district, open our doors to educators from around the state, and strengthen our partnership with Arkansas AIMS. AIMS provides support and professional development for secondary teachers that is content specific so that teachers can go back to their classrooms with engaging activities and effective strategies that are aligned to Arkansas standards. We are grateful for this collaboration and proud to provide a space for educators to learn, grow, and share best practices.

🌟We are incredibly proud to celebrate our 3rd grade teachers and students for their strong performance on this year’s state assessment!🌟
During the first year of implementation of the Arkansas LEARNS 3rd grade promotion law, our educators showed exceptional focus, dedication, and instructional skill, and our students rose to the challenge with perseverance and hard work. Their growth and achievement reflect the power of strong teaching, consistent support, and high expectations in every classroom.
Thank you to our 3rd grade teachers for the countless hours spent planning, teaching, and supporting students, and to our families for partnering with schools throughout the year. Most importantly, congratulations to our 3rd graders—you have much to be proud of!
We look forward to building on this success and continuing to support every student’s growth and success in the years ahead!

☀️Summer may have just begun, but our teachers are already preparing for the year ahead!📚🐾
This week, educators from across Conway Public Schools participated in Math ACATemy, a two-day professional learning experience focused on strengthening math instruction and student success.
Teachers spent two full days engaged in math exploration, vertical alignment, content-specific professional development, and collaborative learning through sample tasks across multiple grade bands. This exciting opportunity was made possible through a partnership with the University of Central Arkansas and was developed as part of our District Math Plan.
A special thank you to Dr. Abel, Dr. Fetterly, and Dr. Sahin from UCA, along with our outstanding CPSD Math Coaches and Curriculum Coordinators, for leading these sessions and investing in our teachers.
When school starts, our students will benefit from the learning, collaboration, and dedication that took place this week. We are proud of our educators for continuing to learn, grow, and prepare for excellence in the classroom! 💙

While many students are enjoying a well-deserved summer break, more than 100 Conway Public Schools students and area students are choosing to invest in their future by participating in an ACT Boot Camp this week!
Through a partnership between Conway Public Schools, the University of Central Arkansas, and the Conway Area Chamber of Commerce, students are receiving valuable instruction and test-taking strategies from UCA faculty and alumni to help them maximize their ACT scores and open doors to additional scholarship opportunities. Today the instructor is a Conway High School Alumni, Sarah Spellmann with UCA. It is awesome to see how our students come back and give back!
This incredible opportunity is made possible through proceeds from the Toad Suck Daze Festival and the generous support of community sponsors who believe in investing in our students.
We are incredibly proud of these students for dedicating part of their summer to academic growth and future success. Their commitment to excellence is what being a Wampus Cat is all about!

The Clinton Presidential Center presented their 2026 Impactful Teacher of the Year award to our very own Dr. Kathi Sweere, District Reading Specialist.
“She creates a community where students feel safe, valued, and empowered to step into leadership, serve others, and embrace their own abilities. Every act, from tutoring a struggling student to quietly giving a coat to a child in need, reflects a life dedicated to compassion in action.” —Susan
We are very proud of you Dr. Sweere and appreciate the impact you continue to make everyday! Thank you for going the extra mile!

Why she was nominated:
"Mrs. Pierce was assigned to be my mentor teacher this year and she has been fabulous. Mrs. Pierce has let me vent, helped me find solutions that would work, shown me how to make sure my IEP's are written well and just overall been an amazing and compassionate mentor and teacher!"
#CPSDStrong #ClassroomChampion #ConwayJuniorHigh #ConwaySchools #ChampionsForKids #WeAreWampusCats

Why he was nominated:
"Mr. Beagley is a novice teacher in the sense that he has only been in the classroom a few years. However, he is more of a mentor than a novice! He constantly leads by example, and is a reminder of how and why we do this job!"
#CPSDStrong #ClassroomChampion #ConwaySchools #WeAreWampusCats #ChampionsForKids

Why she was nominated:
"Because she has been a constant friend throughout both of our first years teaching. She works really hard to get all her lessons planned with little help from others in her subject. She shows up everyday ready to teach and build relationships with her students even when its feels hard. This is very impressive to me because I have leaned so heavily on the other teacher in my subject to help guide me in making decisions over lessons this whole year. This why I used the word 'stalwart' to nominate her, it means she is strong, loyal, steadfast and dependable."
#CPSDStrong #ClassroomChampion #ConwaySchools #WeAreWampusCats #ChampionsForKids

Why he was nominated:
"Coach Jordan works with more than 13 of our Conway teams and trains nearly 360 athletes every day. Through challenging, high-energy workouts, he pushes every Wampus Cat and Lady Cat to grow stronger both physically and mentally. His passion, dedication, and enthusiasm inspire us daily and help make us truly Wampus Cat Strong!"
#CPSDStrong #ClassroomChampion #ConwaySchools #WeAreWampusCats #ChampionsForKids

Why she was nominated:
"She is a wonderful person inside and out. She exudes positivity and encouragement."
