Career Week at Courtway Middle School was February 26 through March 1. It was an exciting and informative event for our 7th grade students. Tuesday through Thursday during our WIN time, professionals from the community generously shared insights into their respective careers, providing valuable real-world perspectives to our eager 7th graders.
It was a fantastic opportunity for students to explore a wide range of potential career paths. Among the careers highlighted during this event were coaching & sports, law enforcement, entrepreneurship, nursing, politicians, lawyers, IT engineers, loan officers, realtors, small business owners, youth pastors, a photographer, a muralist, and a mortician. We even had a Youtuber and a Pokemon card trader! Students learned what each job entailed and what skills/education are essential to each profession. These talks not only broadened the students' understanding of various job opportunities but also inspired them to explore diverse career paths!
The culmination of Career Week took place on Friday, March 1. CMS 7th graders toured the Conway Area Career Center at the high school. This visit offered the students hands-on experience and a glimpse into the advanced facilities and programs available to them in the future. By witnessing the practical applications of different skills and trades, the students were able to envision their potential career pathways more vividly, fostering a sense of excitement and motivation for their future endeavors. Overall, Career Week 2024 at Courtway Middle School was a resounding success in empowering our students to dream big and aspire towards fulfilling and rewarding careers.
