💙 CLE Q&A: Little Cats, Big Answers! 🐾

We're wrapping up another common question to help our CLE families feel confident before the first day of school!

The parking lot is confusing for me. I'm not sure where I need to turn. Can you help? 🚗

Check out the graphic below for a helpful map of our traffic flow! Carolyn Lewis Elementary has two driveway entrances. The north entrance (parking lot side) is the recommended entrance for families, while the south entrance (playground side) is reserved for buses, daycare vans, and vehicles with special permission.

If you're ever unsure, please use the north entrance. Following our traffic pattern helps keep arrival and dismissal safe and efficient for everyone.

Thank you for helping us take care of our Little Cats—we can't wait to welcome you to CLE! 💙

💙 CLE Q&A: Little Cats, Big Answers! 🐾

We're continuing our Q&A series by answering another question our families ask each year!

What is the best way to communicate with my child's teacher? 📱

CPSD uses a communication app that allows families to message teachers directly and receive important school notifications. Your child's teacher will provide the information you need to get connected.

You can also communicate with your child's teacher by email or by calling the school office and leaving a message. Teachers will return calls as soon as they are able during their planning time or breaks.

We value the partnership between home and school and look forward to working together for a successful year! 💙

💙 CLE Q&A: Little Cats, Big Answers! 🐾

We're answering another frequently asked question to help our CLE families prepare for the school year!

Can I eat lunch with my child? 🍎🥪

The answer is YES! We love welcoming families to enjoy this special time with their student.

A few important reminders:
🍽️ Lunch visits begin September 8.
✅ Visitors must check in at the office and be listed on the student's information sheet.
🌳 Lunch will be enjoyed at the pavilion behind the cafeteria.
🥪 Feel free to bring an outside lunch for you and your student.

We look forward to seeing our families on campus and appreciate your help in following these guidelines so lunch visits are enjoyable for everyone! 💙

💙 CLE Q&A: Little Cats, Big Answers! 🐾

We're answering another common question to help our CLE families get ready for a great school year!

What is the best way for my child to find an item that is lost? 🎒

Our Lost & Found is located in the cafeteria, and the best way to make sure lost items find their way back home is to label your child's belongings with their first and last name.

Items with names can often be returned quickly, while unlabeled items are placed in Lost & Found until they're claimed.

A few minutes spent labeling backpacks, lunch boxes, water bottles, jackets, and other belongings can save a lot of time later! 💙

💙 CLE Q&A: Little Cats, Big Answers! 🐾

We're answering another common question as we prepare for the start of the school year!

Today's question: Why is the drop-off and pick-up line so long? 🚗🚌

During the first few weeks of school, many students who normally ride the bus are picked up by car, and students are still learning dismissal routines. This can make our drop-off and pick-up lines a little longer than usual.

Please know that our staff is working hard to move students safely and efficiently each day. We appreciate your patience, understanding, and partnership as we help our Little Cats learn their routines and start the year strong! 💙

💙 CLE Q&A: Little Cats, Big Answers! 🐾

We're continuing our Q&A series with another helpful reminder for our CLE families!

Next question: What time does the drop-off line close? 🚗

Check out the graphic below for the answer! The gate for the drive-through drop-off line closes at 7:50 a.m. If you arrive after the gate has closed, you'll need to park and walk your child into the building.

This procedure is in place to help keep all of our Little Cats safe, as staff members are no longer on duty in the parking lot after the drop-off line closes.

Thank you for helping us make morning arrival safe and efficient for everyone! 💙

Check out the graphic below for the details! If you need to check your child out of school, please do so before 3:15 p.m. After 3:15 p.m., all student pickups must go through the car rider line to help ensure a safe and efficient dismissal for everyone.

Following these procedures helps us get all of our Little Cats home safely and on time. Thank you for your cooperation and support! 💙

Today's question: Do I need a car rider tag to pick up my student in the car rider line? 🚗

Check out the graphic below for the answer! Yes, a car rider tag is required for pickup in the car rider line. If you do not have a tag, you'll need to park and come into the building to pick up your child.

We're answering another frequently asked question to help families prepare for a successful school year.

Next question: What time does the car rider line close? 🚗

Check out the graphic below for the details! During the first few days of school, the car rider line may take a little longer as everyone settles into their routines. Once those routines are established, the drive-through car rider line will close at 3:40 p.m.

If your child has not been picked up by then, they will be taken to the front office, and a parent or guardian will need to park and come into the building to sign them out.

Thank you for your patience and partnership as we work together to ensure a safe and efficient dismissal for all of our Little Cats! 💙

Next Question: Can my child ride the bus home with a friend? 🚌
