🌟 Today, as the Solar Eclipse graces our skies, we're thrilled to share the excitement that's been building up in our town! Last week, in collaboration with UCA, Carolyn Lewis Elementary had the pleasure of hosting Morton Brown, a former UCA student and Arkansas native, who also happens to be the Artistic Director for the city of Philadelphia. Morton brought to life LUNA, a magnificent 25’ Solar Eclipse superhero sculpture, right here in our beloved town, in anticipation of today's COSMIC event! You may know of some of Mr. Brown's work as he has done murals in downtown Conway!
🌞 Huge thanks to Mr. Morton and UCA for their incredible efforts and the captivating presentation they shared with us! Not only did Mr. Morton gift Carolyn Lewis Elementary with a special drawing, but a group of our students also had the amazing opportunity to create Birthday Capes! Each student received a personalized chart depicting the sky on their exact birthdate. They meticulously plotted stars from the chart onto graph paper, then sewed them onto capes, forming unique constellations representing their birthdays.
✨ Today, LUNA takes center stage at the UCA Solar Eclipse event, marking this momentous occasion in the most spectacular way possible. 🌒
