Our first round of NWEA testing will begin this week. NWEA Map Growth is our state-mandated testing for Kindergarten, First and Second Grade. First and Second-grade students will take their assessments on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. Kindergarten will take their assessments on Thursday and Friday of this week.

Coming up this Thursday, August 31st we have UCA Basketball team who will be with us to open car doors and welcome our students. Let's all show our UCA pride and wear purple or UCA Bears attire to support them!! It is going to be a fun morning and the kids will love it!!
Happy Friday Parents and Students!We have had such a great week at Ida Burns! Your students have done so well learning new procedures, meeting new friends, and getting started learning new skills. We are looking forward to a great year of growth. I wanted to send a few reminders as we go into the weekend to work on for next week. Remember that our front doors do not open until 7:30, you may drop your students off before that, but there will not be an adult on duty until the doors open. You may not sit in the car line to wait until the doors open. If you would like to wait with your student, you will need to park in a parking spot until the doors open so that the other parents in the line can get to work. If your student needs to change their mode of transportation, please make sure that you send that in writing to the teacher, send a message through Rooms, or come into the office to do so before 2:00. Please remember that when you exit our parking lot we only make a right turn during drop off and pick up so as to make our car flow quick. We also only allow turning right on Donaghey Street during these times as well so that traffic can keep moving on Lee Street. If you have any questions, please free to contact me! Also, if you have not had a chance to get signed up for Rooms, please get connected. This will be the primary way to get in touch with your child's teacher this school year!Thank you for partnering with us this year!Mrs. Howell
