To help your student start the year strong, we’re asking parents to provide just a few items:
✅ Backpack
✅ Headphones (no earbuds, please!)
✅ Kleenex
✅ Clorox Wipes
That’s it! We’ve got the rest covered. Thank you for your support and partnership as we get ready for a great school year!

We’re excited to announce that ALL CPSD students (PK–12) will receive FREE breakfast for the 2025–2026 school year!
Students who qualify for free or reduced-price meals will also receive FREE lunch—but remember, a new application must be submitted each school year to qualify.

🌞📚 While many are enjoying summer break, our amazing teachers are hitting the books themselves!
This week, a group of our dedicated educators are attending professional development training at our distict wide PD Palooza 2025—because their commitment to students doesn’t take a vacation. They're learning new strategies, collaborating with peers, and preparing to make the upcoming school year the best one yet! We even had a grade level present! We are so proud!
👏 Let’s give a big shoutout to these lifelong learners who go the extra mile—even in the summer. We’re so proud of their passion and dedication!

CPSD Bell to Bell No Cell
At Conway Public Schools Elementaries, we believe school is a place for students to learn, grow, and build good relationships with others. To help keep our classrooms focused and follow state guidelines, students should not use personal electronic devices during the school day. This includes cell phones, AirPods, wireless headphones, and smartwatches. We ask that all devices be turned off and kept in backpacks during school hours.

SPECIAL RECORDS TO BE DESTROYED
On July 7, 2025, the Conway Public School District will destroy Special Education records of students who graduated, moved or were dismissed from Special Education services in the district between January 1, 2019 and June 30, 2019. This process is carried out in compliance with federal and state laws. Students, parents and/or guardians may obtain any data from folders prior to July 7, 2024, by calling the Special Education office at (501) 450-6634, extension 0303 or emailing at
records@conwayschools.info.

🎉 Welcome, Coach Huett! 🎉
We’re thrilled to welcome Coach Katy Huett to Ida Burns Elementary as our new P.E. Coach! 🐾💙
Coach Huett joins us from the classroom at Theodore Jones Elementary, bringing 11 years of teaching experience across first through fourth grades. A proud Conway native and lifelong Wampus Cat, she’s excited to bring her passion for movement and learning to our gym!
Coach Huett describes herself as funny, outgoing, and full of energy — and she’s all about helping students stay active while supporting their academic growth. Her belief in the power of learning through movement is sure to make P.E. a highlight of every Wampus Cat’s day!

🌟 Welcome, Mrs. Ferrebee! 🌟
We are thrilled to welcome Mrs. Ferrebee as the new Assistant Principal of Ida Burns Elementary! 🐾💙
Mrs. Ferrebee brings 15 years of experience in education across Arkansas and Texas. She has taught kindergarten through second grade, served as an instructional facilitator for K–5, and supported students through roles including 504 coordinator and RTI committee member. She also holds an Ed.S. in Building Level Leadership and is passionate about helping students and teachers thrive.
But what truly makes this homecoming special is Mrs. Ferrebee’s connection to Ida Burns. In her own words:
"In 2009, I had the privilege of being placed at Ida Burns for my senior internship. That year, I fell in love with not only teaching, but also the students and families of this community. When I saw there was an opening, I wanted to return to where it all began! As I am stepping into this new role, I still feel the same welcoming spirit that was there 16 years ago. I am excited to work alongside Mrs. Howell, the teachers, and staff in serving the Ida Burns community!"
