🏫Tardy bell rings at 8:00.
🚸Kindergarten students may arrive at 9:00 on the first day only.
✏️Parents may walk their student to class on the first day only.
🔔MVE is providing school supplies for all students. Students need to bring a backpack.
📚Keep a change of clothes in your student’s backpack.
🚌Be sure your student’s teacher knows how your student will get home.
👋🏽Dismissal begins at 3:15.

Three days to go until school begins! Breakfast & lunch times are some of the favorite times of the school day, and your child may bring food from home in a lunch box or bag, or get a meal from our cafeteria. Five more days until school begins! Tonight is our Open House event and we can't wait to see you! You'll be receiving important paperwork this evening and throughout the first week of school. Please be sure to complete and return to school promptly. This ensures that we have your student's most current contact, transportation, and health information. We also need one or more emergency contacts for each student. If at any point in the school year your information changes, be sure to contact your child's teacher and/or our office. Day 6 of our 10 day countdown to the first day of school is all about staying informed. Be sure to sign up for Rooms, our school-to-home electronic communication tool. In addition, we hope you'll watch for our monthly family newsletter, The Viking Voice, published the first day of each month on Facebook and our website. Keeping your phone number and email address up to date with us will facilitate timely & efficient communication regarding your student. Finally, your student will bring home a purple school-to-home communication folder in their backpack each day. Check it regularly for important papers and news and use this folder to send messages to your child's teacher!

Just one more week until school begins! Use these 7 days to start getting back into a routine. Encourage your kids to start going to bed a little earlier each night to ease into the early mornings that are coming soon! Remember our tardy bell will ring 10 minutes earlier this year. Don't be late...learning starts at 8:00!
Eight days to go until school starts! The store aisles are filled with school supplies, but there's no need to worry about that! Vann will once again be providing supplies for all students. Families will need to send students to school with a backpack each day, and may need a lunch box or bag if their student will be bringing lunch from home.

We know that the construction currently taking place on Salem Road will affect our school traffic this year. There are two important CHANGES we want you to be aware of:
Please anticipate longer travel times around Vann/Carl Stuart this year. Plan your travel route ahead of time taking current closures into account, and get an EARLY START for drop off and pick up.
In the afternoons, we will line up Vann traffic on BOTH SIDES of Carl Stuart Road and alternate entry into the Vann car loop. Officer Slayton & Mrs. New will assist in directing traffic to the proper locations.
The following traffic patterns will remain the SAME:
Car rider drop off and pick up is at the FRONT of the building only. The back parking lot is for bus drop off and pick up only.
Carl Stuart Road is ONE WAY traveling west (toward Salem) during drop off and pick up times.
Access to Carl Stuart Road during drop off and pick up is via HUBBARD ROAD.
AM Drop off for car riders: 7:30-7:58 (tardy bell rings at 8:00)
PM Pick up for car riders: 3:15-3:35

🍎Incoming Kindergarten Students🌟
Conway Public Schools will prepare Kindergarten students to begin their first year in education. This year, beginning August 19, 2024, all kindergarten students will participate in Wampus Kitty Kinder Camp!
Week of August 12 - Open House (check your school’s schedule for date/time - link below)
During Open House, you and your child will meet all of the kindergarten teachers, administrators, tour the school, and Kindergarten classrooms. Your child will have an opportunity to meet other children, so they recognize some familiar faces on the first day of school!
August 19 - First Day of School
Kindergarten students will begin at 9:00 a.m. on the first day. We welcome parents and guardians to walk your child into the building and bring them to the designated area.
August 19-23 - Wampus Kitty Kinder Camp
During the first week of school, Kindergarten students will spend time with each Kindergarten teacher in a classroom. They will participate in a variety of fun activities, learn their school and classroom procedures, routines, and meet new friends and classmates. We will learn your child’s strengths and areas where they excel by administering the district Kindergarten Readiness Assessments.
August 23 - Teacher Reveal!
At the conclusion of Wampus Kitty Kinder Camp, your child will bring home a scratch off card revealing their assigned Kindergarten teacher for the school year!
August 26 - Welcome to Class!
Your child will report to their classroom to begin a wonderful year of learning with their assigned teacher. We welcome you to walk your child to class the first day!
