Today we celebrated Vann's Spring 2024 interns with a "new teacher shower." Mentor teachers provided snacks, and the staff stuffed baskets of teacher essentials for each intern. Ms. Perry, Ms. Mingione, Ms. Perkins, Coach Petroff, and Ms. Bankhead have served the students of Vann well this semester, and we wish them the best in their teaching careers!
Congratulations to our Employee of the Year and Teacher of the year! Mrs. Hart and Ms. Etter are two amazing people that we have working at Marguerite Vann and well deserving of this honor!

Marguerite Vann will celebrate National Schwa Day on Tuesday, April 9! Wear your pajamas and be unstressed all day! We will also enjoy some activities in class to celebrate the day!
Schwa (ə) is a sound that can take the place of any vowel. It makes two kinds of relaxed sounds (/ŭ/ or /ĭ/) and is in the unstressed syllable of a word. Schwa makes our speech sound more natural and is the most common vowel sound in English.
The Hats Musical was a big hit! Thank you to Mr, Dooley, the 1st/2nd grade teachers, and all the families that came out to support our students!
Today we celebrate our amazing Library Media Specialist, Ms. Etter! She's creative, energetic, and a knowledgable resource for students and teachers alike. Total Eclipse and the Arts was a huge success tonight! Big shout outs to Jeanetta Darley for showing our students amazing artwork and to the Museum of Discovery for putting on a Science Show for us! We had math facts bingo, tattoos, eclipse glasses, line dancing, artwork displayed by every Vann student, and more! Thank you to all who came out and supported our STEAM event at school.
