We know that the construction currently taking place on Salem Road will affect our school traffic this year. There are two important CHANGES we want you to be aware of:
Please anticipate longer travel times around Vann/Carl Stuart this year. Plan your travel route ahead of time taking current closures into account, and get an EARLY START for drop off and pick up.
In the afternoons, we will line up Vann traffic on BOTH SIDES of Carl Stuart Road and alternate entry into the Vann car loop. Officer Slayton & Mrs. New will assist in directing traffic to the proper locations.
The following traffic patterns will remain the SAME:
Car rider drop off and pick up is at the FRONT of the building only. The back parking lot is for bus drop off and pick up only.
Carl Stuart Road is ONE WAY traveling west (toward Salem) during drop off and pick up times.
Access to Carl Stuart Road during drop off and pick up is via HUBBARD ROAD.
AM Drop off for car riders: 7:30-7:58 (tardy bell rings at 8:00)
PM Pick up for car riders: 3:15-3:35

🍎Incoming Kindergarten Students🌟
Conway Public Schools will prepare Kindergarten students to begin their first year in education. This year, beginning August 19, 2024, all kindergarten students will participate in Wampus Kitty Kinder Camp!
Week of August 12 - Open House (check your school’s schedule for date/time - link below)
During Open House, you and your child will meet all of the kindergarten teachers, administrators, tour the school, and Kindergarten classrooms. Your child will have an opportunity to meet other children, so they recognize some familiar faces on the first day of school!
August 19 - First Day of School
Kindergarten students will begin at 9:00 a.m. on the first day. We welcome parents and guardians to walk your child into the building and bring them to the designated area.
August 19-23 - Wampus Kitty Kinder Camp
During the first week of school, Kindergarten students will spend time with each Kindergarten teacher in a classroom. They will participate in a variety of fun activities, learn their school and classroom procedures, routines, and meet new friends and classmates. We will learn your child’s strengths and areas where they excel by administering the district Kindergarten Readiness Assessments.
August 23 - Teacher Reveal!
At the conclusion of Wampus Kitty Kinder Camp, your child will bring home a scratch off card revealing their assigned Kindergarten teacher for the school year!
August 26 - Welcome to Class!
Your child will report to their classroom to begin a wonderful year of learning with their assigned teacher. We welcome you to walk your child to class the first day!

DID YOU KNOW?
Marguerite Irby Vann (1909-1996) was a music teacher for the Conway district. She and her husband, Ben Vann, owned a portion of the former Lollie Plantation from 1952 until they sold it to the Schaefers in 1973. She also led the music in the children’s department at First Baptist Church. After teaching for 15 years, she became the district supervisor of choral music in 1965. Marguerite Vann Elementary was built in 1986 and named in her honor.
