Today we kicked off our “Fast Facts” math fact fluency initiative by distributing a set of flashcards to all Vann students. These cards may be kept at home. Attached to these cards is a schedule we’d love for you to follow as you help your student learn their math facts at home over the next five weeks. Our goal is students who are fluent—both quick and accurate—in their basic facts so that they can better solve more complex math problems. If your student has already mastered the facts scheduled for one week, feel free to move on to the next week or let your child’s teacher know he/she is ready for the next set of cards. We’ll be using our math facts to play Fast Facts Bingo at our Vann family night on April 2. Mark your calendars and we will see you there!
