🚙Stop #5 for the Conway School Board "CPSD Road Trip" was recently at Woodrow Cummins Elementary with the theme of “Champions For Kids!” School Board Members and District leaders were welcomed by fun music and cheers by the “Kindness Squad” led by Counselor Ms. Ashley Patchell. Principal Dr. Lewis, Assistant Principal Ms. Ross, and Instructional Facilitator Ms. Martin led a great presentation of walking through a Champion day at WCE! Ms. Sorrells Elementary choir put their spin on “We’re all in this Together” that featured the Wampus Cats and rocked it!! Mr. Nail’s Math Fact Fluency Champion students had a friendly Math Fact Fluency competition with the Board Members and District Leaders. Who won you ask?? The Champion Students of course!! To end the visit, Ms. Moyer’s students demonstrated their working model of the human eye where they used a magnifying lens as a model of the cornea to explore how the structure of the lens was related to the function of their eyes. The students paired up with Board members and District leaders to show them how it all worked. They were fantastic teachers! It was a wonderful experience at Woodrow Cummins Elementary and we are excited about all of the exciting things taking place for our students! 🌟Sam Dobson - Custodian at Woodrow Cummins Elementary - is a Core Values Champion for the Month of October!🌟 "Mr. Sam inspires our students and staff on a daily basis! When he notices a student's shoe is untied, he immediately bends down and offers to tie it for him/her. When he sees our cafeteria is short-handed, he just jumps right in and assists with whatever is needed. He walks around and engages in conversations with students during breakfast and lunch. When our teachers call on the walkie-talkie about a custodial need, Mr. Sam responds regardless of whether the need is in his area of responsibility or not. He is a true CHAMPION FOR KIDS!"
