🎓 CHS students in Mr. Terrell’s UCA Concurrent Writing class had an incredible experience at UCA! They met with Prof. Amber Wilson in the library to explore academic databases like Academic Search Complete and Proquest, and they learned to navigate UCA’s extensive online resources. Dr. Julia Winden-Fey from Student Success also shared valuable tips for college success and highlighted support resources for other concurrent courses. To top it off, the group toured the UCA tutoring center and got an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the new Windgate Center for Fine & Performing Arts, where Amanda Horton showed off the vibrant art spaces and set construction for Heathers: The Musical. What an inspiring day for these future scholars! #CHS #UCA #ConcurrentCredit #CollegeReady

📚🌎 Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with Inspiring Guests! 🌎📚
Our AP Spanish classes had an incredible opportunity to learn from some amazing visitors! Mrs. Judith Mendez, a dedicated teacher from Argentina, shared insights into Argentina's unique education system. We were also joined by UCA students who spoke about the power of bilingualism and the doors it can open. They discussed their own experiences with Spanish, the advantages of taking AP Spanish, and even offered tips for traveling abroad! ✈️💼
Our students asked fantastic questions and left with a deeper understanding of the future opportunities that come with being bilingual. Thank you to our special guests for inspiring the next generation! 💬✨ #HispanicHeritageMonth #APSpanish #BilingualFuture #GlobalOpportunities

🔍 AP Gov Students Forecast 2024 Election Results! 🔍
Mr. Smith's AP Government and Politics students have put their research skills to the test by analyzing polling data and the Electoral College to make their own predictions for the 2024 Presidential election! Through examining voting patterns and the importance of swing states, these future voters gained a deeper understanding of the election process.
We’re excited to see how close their forecasts will be to the actual results!

On Wednesday, November 20th, 10th-grade students, along with Juniors and Seniors enrolled in Geometry and/or Biology, will participate in the ATLAS Interim Assessment. This assessment provides CHS with valuable baseline data on student progress ahead of the major Spring assessment.
Testing will commence during 1st period and continue throughout the day. The schedule includes an extended lunch, with breaks between sessions. For students enrolled in AP courses we will be offering AP test prep sessions that day in the morning and afternoon. More information will be released on that later this week. For Juniors and Seniors who are not testing, a college and career day has been organized.
Additionally, please note that the second interim assessment is scheduled for Wednesday, February 12th. Non-testing students and their families may want to plan for a college or career visit on that date. For students enrolled in AP courses we will be offering AP test prep sessions that day in the morning and afternoon. More information will be released on that after Christmas break.
10th grade students will have an opportunity to earn community service hours on February 25th, when Juniors take the ACT assessment. Families, please start making plans accordingly.

THANK YOU to First Community Bank for sponsoring Lady Cat t-shirts for our
7th grade, CJHS, and CHS teams! 🚾🏀
