🌎🎉 Congratulations to CHS senior John David Kim! 🎉🌎

John David has been named one of only 10 national winners of the Senior Travel Scholarship through the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese and the National Spanish Exam. He was also selected for the Joseph Adams Senior Scholarship through the Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica but chose to accept the national travel opportunity.

John David scored a 5 on the AP Spanish exam, will earn the Global Seal of Biliteracy this spring (B2 Working Fluency), and is an active member of Spanish Club and SHH.

Congratulations to CHS SeniorAddison Choate for earning Premier Distinction within the National Speech & Debate Association's Honor Society.

Premier Distinction is the highest degree in the NSDA Honor Society! This is an outstanding achievement. Fewer than 3% of NSDA members earn Premier Distinction prior to graduation! This milestone is a celebration of the hundreds of hours Addison has spent preparing, practicing, and competing to hone her communication and leadership skills. Along with earning Premier Distinction, Addison is also an NSDA Academic All-American.

Addison is a 3-year member of the CHS Speech & Debate team and has competed across the state of Arkansas, along with Philadelphia, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana and Mississippi. Addison competes in Lincoln-Douglas debate, Informative Speaking, Student Congress and is a 3-year member of our Mock Trial team.

🎉🐎 2nd Annual Lunar New Year Celebration at the Faulkner County Library 🎉🐎
On Saturday, February 7th, the CJHS & CHS Asian Club, in partnership with the Faulkner County Library, local Chinese community members, and the UCA Center for Asian Languages and Cultures, proudly hosted Conway’s 2nd Lunar New Year Celebration.
With approximately 200 attendees, the event was filled with energy, learning, and fun! Families enjoyed interactive stations featuring dumpling-making, Chinese calligraphy, crafts, chopsticks games, and more. It was a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together and celebrate the Year of the Fire Horse.

A heartfelt thank-you to the Faulkner County Library for providing the space and incredible support that helped make this event possible. We are also grateful for our amazing team of 20 student volunteers from Conway High School and Conway Junior High School, along with 14 local Chinese community members, whose enthusiasm and dedication made the celebration such a success.

Special thanks to our generous supporters:
🥟 Sakura Ocean A.Y.C.E. Sushi & Hibachi (coming soon) for the $200 donation supporting the dumpling station
🧋 Boba Love for donating nearly 200 cups of boba tea
🍩 Shimmery Donut for donating 50 dozen donut holes

Events like this truly highlight the cultural vibrancy of our community and the growing excitement for Chinese culture and language. Interested in learning more? Join our Chinese program or the Asian Club! 🌏❤️
