Ms. Bowden’s AP Biology students took learning beyond the classroom with an unforgettable, hands-on field trip experience! 🧬🔬
The group visited the National Center for Toxicological Research and the FDA Arkansas Human and Animal Food Laboratory, where students saw firsthand how cutting-edge biology, chemistry, and physics are used in biomedical research and to protect the safety of food for both people and pets. They even stepped into the role of scientists—participating in sensory testing of seafood and learning how experts detect insect and rodent contamination in consumer products!
After lunch, the learning continued at the Witt Stephens Jr. Central Arkansas Nature Center in Little Rock. Students explored Arkansas’s wetlands, observed live and preserved animals, and gained a deeper appreciation for conservation efforts across the state.
Experiences like this bring science to life and show our students the real-world impact of what they’re learning every day! 🌎✨

Conway High School’s Key Club members just returned from their District Leadership Conference, where they competed against clubs from across Missouri and Arkansas—and brought home some big honors! 🎉
The club earned 1st place for their 100-page scrapbook highlighting the incredible work they’ve done this year, as well as 2nd place in Major Emphasis, which recognizes a club’s year-long service focus. This year’s emphasis was supporting Conway’s youth.
Over the past year, CHS Key Club members completed 16 service projects and contributed 948 hours of service to Conway athletic programs, middle schools, elementary schools, Kiwanis, and Community Connections.
Two members also served on the district executive board this year: Heidy Hernandez Lagos as Secretary and Nicole Reynolds as District 9 Lieutenant Governor. These students helped organize a three-day conference for more than 250 students from across two states!
If you see a Key Club member today, be sure to congratulate them for their dedication to service and leadership! 💙 #WampusCatPride
