🌞✨ CHS Teacher Cadets brightened up the day for 4th graders at Ellen Smith Elementary earlier this week by delving into the upcoming solar eclipse! 📚🌑 To start things off, "A Few Beautiful Minutes" was read to students and then it was hands-on learning all around! From DIY eclipse viewers to playdough models and Merge Cube magic, every station was a blast. Kudos to our cadets for sparking curiosity and making learning shine! 🚀🔭 #SolarEclipse #HandsOnLearning #CHSPride 🌞✨

CHS attendees of the 56 MLK Anniversary and Commemorative Vigil are pictured on the steps of the Capitol and listed from left to right:
Top Row: Joshua Washington, Alyssa Allen, Ysana-Lei Fisher, Maddison Fason,
Stevie Walker
Middle Row: Jennifer Patton, Zamyah Ford, Balasia Tubbs, Jacorion
Goodwin, Cianna Cribbs, Maria Brown, Kenyai Beckton
Bottom Row: Kamela King

Students attended the commemorative anniversary for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. at the Capitol Building in Little Rock, AR to celebrate his life and legacy. Students were able to listen to Vivica A. Fox (celebrity actress) speak about the importance of continuing the fight toward equality and recognizing where we've come so far. She encouraged students to register for and exercise their right to vote when they come of age because every vote counts, even if it doesn't seem like it. Students were also able to listen to and view different artistic exhibits by other schools that attended and decided that they want CHS to be represented artistically next year!

🏆🎉 This past Saturday, the Conway High School chess team showed off their moves at the state chess tournament and won 2nd place! 🥈 We're so proud of the incredible teamwork, support, and effort these students showed: Guy Coyne, Ian Lee-Kim, Zander McCauley, Nicholas Salazar, and Brady White. ♟️👏

CHS FBLA & Student Council Members volunteered at the Arkansas Food Bank in Little Rock. They packed an impressive 9,000 pounds of sweet potatoes into 5-pound bags!!! Their hard work will help provide nourishing meals to food insecure families across the state. Wampus Cats making a difference!

🎓🔥 Concurrent Credit with UACCM will be offered for welding, auto collision, and drafting next year. 🚗📐 An qualifying ACT or Accuplacer will be required to enroll in these classes. UACCM will be at CHS on April 9th to give the Accuplacer to students who are interested in receiving concurrent credit. 📝 Please sign up with Mrs. Calvin in the counseling center. 📚

Come support your Wampus Cat Soccer team tonight as they travel to faceoff against Central! 🚾 Both Boys and Girls try to hold on to 1st place. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Girls Varsity start at 5:30 and Boys at 7:00.
📚🎭 Students in Miss. Kordsmeier and Ms. Sheppard's 10th-grade English classes are currently reading "The Thief and the Dogs" by Naguib Mahfouz. To spice up this crime thriller, students are utilizing Reader's Theater, an approach that involves students in the reading process by allowing them to volunteer to read and perform specific roles! 🌟 #readersareleaders 🎭📖
