Our Fundamentals of Biology class took learning outdoors today with a field trip to Petit Jean State Park—and what a day it was!
Students studied ecosystems and biodiversity up close, snapping photos of mosses, ferns, lichens, and mushrooms along the trail. They also got to experience some of Petit Jean’s most fascinating features: the iconic sandstone “turtle” rocks, a cave filled with ancient pictographs and petroglyphs created by Native peoples 500–1500 years ago, and even tested out some impressive echoes across the Cedar Creek canyon!
Despite the 35° temps and a surprise dusting of sleet, this crew embraced the adventure and made the most of every moment. ❄️🌲
What an unforgettable way to connect classroom learning with Arkansas’s natural treasures!

Mr. Spiridigliozzi’s Theater students visited Mrs. Roberts’ first grade class at Woodrow Cummins to read stories and inspire our youngest learners.
Many thanks to Mrs. Roberts for making this exciting opportunity happen!

14 CHS band students were selected to participate in the prestigious University of Central Arkansas Honors Wind Ensemble, where they will be learning from UCA’s top music professors and will perform in a special concert Friday night.
Hundreds of students apply each year, and this year CHS had more students selected than any other school in Arkansas!
Please congratulate these talented musicians when you see them—what an incredible accomplishment! 👏💙🐾
