A special shoutout to Studio 205, who were named “Best in Class” for 7A Small Ensemble — making them the official 7A State Champions for Small Ensemble!

Arkansas State Championship Tournament
Congratulations to the following CHS Speech & Debate team members for qualifying for the STATE TOURNAMENT! In order to qualify for the Arkansas State Championship tournament, a student has to compete at a sanctioned tournament and meet qualifying standards. The CHS Speech & Debate team has secured 59 ASC qualifications! The Arkansas Communications & Theatre Arts Association (ACTAA) is the sponsoring and governing body that hosts the Arkansas State Championship each year which is sanctioned by the Arkansas Activities Association. Students will compete May 2-3, 2025. The CHS Speech & Debate team is coached by Mrs. Casey Griffith.





Prom 2025: Here We Go Again! Tickets go on sale starting Monday, March 31st for $35 through Go Fan, and will be available to purchase until April 24th! Join us for a night in Greece as we groove around the dance floor and under the disco lights! Paper tickets will be available to purchase during both lunches April 21st - 24th in case students cannot access Go Fan!

Congratulations to CHS Senior, Elyse Ortega, for being named a National Speech & Debate Association’s Academic All American!
The Academic All American award recognizes high school students who have earned the degree of Superior Distinction within the NSDA Honor Society by competing in speech and debate events at tournaments; completed at least 5 semesters of high school; demonstrated outstanding character and leadership; and earned a GPA of 3.7 or higher. Fewer than 2% of National Speech & Debate Association student members earn the Academic All American award every year. This honor is an indicator of Elyse’s academic achievement and competitive success.
Elyse is a 2-year member of the CHS Speech & Debate team and has competed across the state of Arkansas, along with tournaments in Kentucky, Des Moines and Philadelphia. Elyse competes in Speech events: Program of Oral Interpretation, Humorous Interp., Poetry Interp., Prose Interp., and Storytelling. Elyse is a two-year qualifier for the University of Kentucky Tournament of Champions tournament and was a 2024 National Speech & Debate Association National Tournament qualifier for Arkansas. Elyse is also a 2025 Arkansas State Championships tournament qualifier. Elyse has competed on the CHS Mock Trial teams in both the Arkansas High School Mock Trial tournament 2025 and the Empire Mock Trial Philadelphia tournament 2024.

The CHS Camerata, Select Treble, and Studio 205 choirs will be performing for the 7A state title this Friday, April 11th at Reynolds Auditorium on the campus of the University of Central Arkansas.
You are invited to come out and watch and support these amazing choral artists!

Wren has competed on the CHS Mock Trial teams in both the Arkansas High School Mock Trial tournament (2024 & 2025) and the Empire Mock Trial Philadelphia tournament (2024).
