Congratulations to the CHS Forensics & Debate Team for their success at the Marshall-Spalter Tournament! As a team, they brought home the 1st Place Spalter Cup trophy. Individually, they brought home 15 awards tournament awards, along with 5 bids to the UKTOC National Tournament and 3 bids to the NIETOC National Tournament. Earning awards were: Caley Miller (1st place speaker in IPDA debate), Sam Lieber (quarterfinalist in IPDA debate), Vince Lee (octofinalist in IPDA debate), Rebecca Corona (octofinalist in IPDA debate), Addison Choate (2nd place LD debate), Trinity Dantzler (5th place DI, 1st Place OI), Chloe Spearmon (3rd place OI, 1st place POI), Avery Ferguson (1st place OO), Elyse Ortega (2nd place POI, 1st place POES), Naomi Brooks (5th place OI), Tania Islas (semifinalist OI). 🌟 The Conway High School step team (Chi Sigma Chi) took part in the Black History Celebration at Bob Courtway Middle School on Friday, February 23. 🎉 The celebration educated, highlighted, and celebrated African-American contributions to American history and culture. 🌍 Stepping has its roots in African music and dance, and was adopted by college Black Greek Letter Organizations as a means of creative expression during the 1940s and 50s. It has been a long treasured tradition since then, being showcased in modern movies, television, and music videos. 🎬📺🎶
