Happy Wednesday, Gardners!
Here is a quick update on all the things happening in our garden right now!
Be looking for a couple of VERY important Sign-Up Genius forms to come out. If you’ve wanted to volunteer but haven’t been able to I hope you find an opportunity here. As always, please reach out with any questions!
-Seed planting starts today! Cue the confetti! This is the biggest fundraiser of the year and it’s also going to be a great way for the CLE Garden to support other school gardens in Conway. *We have plenty of volunteers for this!
-Following close behind the seed starting is the Watering Schedule. Without consistent water these tiny seeds will simply just sit. Consistent watering is extremely important! There are 14 days to choose from on the schedule. This is during school hours. It will be important to operate in the most professional manner so we don’t disturb learning and testing. There is an explanation of how to water in the sign up and I will also send out a guide in another email.
-Our First and Second Grade lessons with Krista Quinn are happening March 8th and March 12th!! Fingers crossed we will be able to hold the lesson in the garden and plant peas and potatoes with students. If it rains, we will continue with lessons only in the tornado shelter. Sign up is going out for these as well.
One other thing, if you see any of our wonderful CLE PTO Board Members PLEASE thank them for their generous contribution to our Volunteer Appreciate Picnic (Planned for later this spring). They are so supportive of our school and garden.
I hope you’re as excited as I am about watching our plants grow this spring. An undertaking like this simply would not be possible without you, our wonderful, strong, and reliable volunteers. You are the best!

Our VIP Dance is THIS FRIDAY from 5-7 here at CLE. Students can bring one guest. PTO is providing all students and their one guest a hotdog, chips, water, and a cookie. We can't wait to dance the night away with you. See you Friday night! Come in your boogie shoes!

The VIP dance is next Friday, February 23, 2024 from 5-7 pm at CLE. We are excited to offer this event on a Friday night and provide food for all students/guests. If you can volunteer, your student can bring one additional guest to attend the dance while you volunteer. ❄️Inclement Weather make up day information ❄️
Conway Public Schools will not be in session, as planned, on February 19, 2024 in observance of President's day.
The District will be seeking waiver approval from the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education to transition the remainder of the 2023-2024 school year to serve minutes versus days. This would allow the current published calendar to remain intact and not add additional days to the end of the school year.
Any future inclement weather days will be evaluated. More information will be shared after the waiver has been approved or denied.
