Hello CLE Families!
It was so good to see so many of our families at our Open House last week! We are SO excited for our kiddos to start with us on Monday morning!
We always get so excited about school starting back that we often forget how crazy car rider lines and bus routes are the first several days of school. CLE is a bus hub which means more than just CLE students come to our campus for transportation. Additionally, we have many new families to our campus that haven't practiced our drop off and pick up procedures. All of these factors make these lines a little longer and a little slower. We promise it will get easier and shorter. We ask that you give us grace as work to make sure our procedures are SAFE and efficient. Sometimes this requires us to make changes. We appreciate your patience. To keep the line moving most efficiently your student should be unbuckled, back pack on, and ready to exit the vehicle on the drivers side when the line stops at the door. Getting out on the passenger side requires your child to walk between vehicles. This is unsafe and takes longer.
I understand that some of our procedures do not make sense to you or may not be convenient for you. We are responsible for making sure over 600 students (CLE and secondary students) arrive to their classrooms and other campuses safely and on time. All of our procedures are designed around that goal...SAFETY and EFFICIENCY! Again, we ask for grace and patience!
A few new procedures this year are:
DROP OFF (CLE students without older siblings catching a shuttle bus): No longer will car riders be allowed to enter the front of the building. Previously, students were allowed to be walked to the front door by parents and enter the building there. Due to some changes we are making, this will now be an unsafe practice. All students who do not ride a bus must be dropped off in the car rider drop off line which goes around our building. (blue arrows on map)
SHUTTLE STUDENTS DROP OFF (with and without CLE siblings): The front loop (around the parking lot) will be open for you to pull up and park to wait for bus loading. You will NOT use the parking lot. The parking lot will be for teachers and anyone with business to take care of in the building. THIS IS FOR MORNINGS ONLY! (red arrows on map)
PICK UP (CLE students with older siblings on shuttle buses): If you have a CLE student and a secondary student riding a shuttle bus, you will need to drive through the pick up line to get your CLE student. You will then need to pull around and park in the parking lot to wait for your secondary student to be released from the shuttle bus. Shuttle bus riders do not get dismissed from the buses until ALL buses have arrived on campus.
On the first day of school, parents may park and walk their child to their classroom. This is for the first day only! The above procedures start on DAY 2! Reminder, K students can wait until 9:00 to start on the first day! We hope you had a great weekend, resting up for the start of school! We will be ready to see you first thing in the morning!

If you are interested in planning ahead, check out all of these fun activies that PTO will be hosting this fall! If you would like to help out, please be sure to check out their welcome table during Open House! #WeAreCLE

CPSD will be closed June 19th, 2023 in observance of Juneteenth.

CPSD will experience an extended system outage this summer due to our yearly Student Information database updates and extra software updates at the state level. Between June 23rd and July 14th, transcripts, report cards, and other data will not be available. If you require a transcript or report card for your student, please submit your request to the building before June 20th. Our team will process the backlog of requests after the update is completed. We appreciate your patience during that time. Thank you for your understanding.
