CSMS had three $750.00 Classroom Impact Grants awarded to five of our teachers. Congratulations to Mr. Noland, Mrs. Gunsolus, Mrs. Harness, Mrs. Sanders, and Mr. Smith!! #ChampionsForKids #celebratecsms
Mr. Noland's 6th grade students will study star constellations and their origins in order to create a work of art. Each student will design their own constellation! For stars, students will create circuits on the back of their art using copper tape, batteries, and LED lights. This project will connect art across multiple disciplines.
Fifth-grade science teachers, Mrs. Harness, Mrs. Sanders, and Mr. Gunsolus, cannot wait to get their students involved in designing and creating compost piles!
Mr. Smith's The Books with a Backpack program is to provide new, free books to students that are a part of the school food backpack program. Every time a student receives a food backpack, they can take home a book of their choice. Studies have shown that having an in-home library is crucial for students' academic success. More importantly, we want to foster a love of learning and reading, to positively affect students throughout their lives. We were given a $750 grant which has purchased over 300 new books!
One of the Cat Connections classes this past week our school focused on "We are the Wampus Cats". Students learned the Wampus Cat fight song and Alma Mater. Fifth grade students in Mrs. Greenawalt’s class show us their Wampus Cat spirit. #ChampionsForKids #celebratecsms
