🗣️ Oral language 🗣️ is the process of learning how to communicate ideas through spoken words. Parents, teachers, and other adults can support oral language development by encouraging children to engage in purposeful conversations. Here are some 4th of July table talk topics to use with your student(s) this week that will help them practice their oral language skills and give you a glimpse of their fantastic imagination!

Why aren't there any knock knock jokes about the 4th of July?
Because freedom doesn't knock, it rings! 🤣😂

🍦 Hello, July! 🍦

Do you know someone who needs to be in the know about our school's happenings? Family time? Sleeping in? Playing outside? We want to know!

If you don't have plans to go anywhere this summer, you can create your own fun experiences at home! This week can be Camping Week. These activities are a great way to make "camping" memories without leaving the comfort of home!

🌵 Do the impossible! 🌵

Here's a fun twist on physical fitness! Complete the activities for each letter of a word you spell. Spell your name, the day of the week, or anything else! More words...more spelling...more physical activity! 🔠🏋🏽💪🏻

We 💗 these tips for getting kids writing at home! Try a few of them this summer and keep your student on the "write" track! ✍🏾

🗣️ Oral language 🗣️ is the process of learning how to communicate ideas through spoken words. Parents, teachers, and other adults can support oral language development by encouraging children to engage in purposeful conversations. One fun way to do this is with the game 5 Second Battle. Provide your child or even an adult family member or friend with a category from the list, then see if they can name 3 items from that category within 5 seconds. Younger students may need 30 or 60 seconds. Continue playing with categories of your own and enjoy the laughing and learning!

👀 SPOTTED in a local store this week: SCHOOL SUPPLIES! ✏️📏📒🖇️🖍️
Don't worry, Vann families...we've got you! All supplies from the district supply list will be provided for Vann students and be ready in their classrooms on the first day of school. All you'll need is a backpack 🎒(and a lunch box if you plan to send lunch from home)!

The world belongs to those who READ!

One of the best ways to keep learning happening during the summer is to READ! Head to the library or bookstore and find some books! You just might see some of our Vann staff's favorites!
