In just a little over a month, we will see you at Vann! Mark your calendars! #buildingfutures

Please give a big Vann welcome to Mrs. Abbey Everett! In August, Mrs. Everett will begin her 6th year as a teacher teaching Kindergarten. A graduate of both UCA and Arkansas Tech, Mrs. Everett previously taught 1st grade in Perryville. Mrs. Everett and her husband, Dalton, have one daughter, Ella, and a yellow lab, Ava. She loves to spend weekends on the lake or at hunting camp with her family, and enjoys gardening as a hobby. Mrs. Everett is very excited to be teaching at Vann, and we are excited to have her #buildingfutures with us!

Please help us welcome Ms. Christa Neal to the Vann team! Ms. Neal will be teaching 4th grade. Ms. Neal shares: "I just graduated from UCA and I find it a privilege to teach at Marguerite Vann as my first teaching position. I love all things artsy...baking, embroidery, pottery...and I find it a joy that I get to work with children the rest of my career. I hope to make a positive difference in their lives where they leave my classroom empowered and full of confidence in who they are and all that they can do!" Ms. Neal, we are looking forward to #buildingfutures with you!

CPSD Bell to Bell No Cell
At Conway Public Schools Elementaries, we believe school is a place for students to learn, grow, and build good relationships with others. To help keep our classrooms focused and follow state guidelines, students should not use personal electronic devices during the school day. This includes cell phones, AirPods, wireless headphones, and smartwatches. We ask that all devices be turned off and kept in backpacks during school hours.

Please help us welcome Mrs. Audrey Cooper to the Vann team! She will serve as our new instructional coach.
Mrs. Cooper shares: "As a proud Conway native, I bring over 13 years of experience in education—most recently teaching first grade at Ellen Smith Elementary. I am passionate about supporting teachers, empowering students, and fostering a culture of continuous growth. I earned both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Central Arkansas and later completed my K–6 Special Education Endorsement at the University of Arkansas at Monticello. This year, I am also honored to be part of the IMPACT Arkansas Instructional Leadership Fellowship. Through this program, I look forward to expanding my skills in coaching, leadership, and systems-level thinking to better serve our teachers and students. I am married to my wonderful husband Marcus. We have three amazing children, a sweet granddaughter, and a very spoiled beagle named Jordan. In my free time, I enjoy singing and spending time with family and friends."

Parents, teachers, and other adults can support oral language development by encouraging children to engage in purposeful conversations. Here are some 4th of July table talk topics to use with your student(s) this week that will help them practice their oral language skills and give you a glimpse of their fantastic imagination!
