Just a reminder for you if your students ride the shuttle bus from Ida Burns in the mornings:
The buses will leave Ida Burns at 7:20 every morning. Please be at the school by 7:15 to ensure your child gets on the correct bus and is ready to leave. We cannot hold buses due to students needing to eat breakfast and get to class at 7:45. Also, when you drop your students off, please do not let students out in the middle of Poplar Street. Make sure to pull into the Ida Burns parking lot and let your child out. Thank you for your help in making our morning dismissal to Ruth Doyle safe and efficient for our students.

Mrs. Hendricks’ 5th Grade RDMS GT Seminar students put their critical thinking to work in a bridge-building engineering challenge! 🚧✨ Students were given just 8 pieces of copy paper and a small amount of duct tape. While designing, they explored Depth and Complexity elements like Details, Rules, and Language of the Discipline - making connections between creativity and problem-solving.

Mrs. Willcutt's RDMS classes kicked off the school year with a fun and engaging Water Bottle Flip Challenge! 💧 With every successful flip, students answered fun questions like naming their favorite food, sharing something about their family or pets, and even making a comment about the one and only Mrs. Willcutt! 😄

Ruth Doyle volleyball enjoyed their night at the showcase.

RDMS Reminder: All incoming 6th graders will need to have received their Tdap booster immunization after turning eleven years old. All 7th graders must have received the first dose of the Meningitis immunization series. Students must receive immunization and provide documentation to the school nurse by September 1st.
