RDMS is honoring Black History Month by engaging students in a daily reflection on the remarkable contributions of African Americans who have shaped the world through perseverance, creativity, curiosity, hard work, and groundbreaking achievements. Every day, we spotlight inspiring individuals whose legacies paved the way for others across various fields—whether in science, the arts, politics, technology, or civil rights.
Some of those individuals so far are:
· George Washing Carver
· Thurgood Marshall
· Dr. Mae Jemison
· Lonnie Johnson
Each day, our school will listen to powerful stories and quotes from African American leaders, thinkers, and innovators who overcame obstacles to make lasting impacts. These daily inspirations serve as a reminder of the power of resilience and the importance of continuing to push boundaries in our own lives.
We encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect on how these historical figures' courage and determination continue to inspire positive change in today’s world. Whether it’s through the arts, technology, education, or activism, their stories remind us that anyone, regardless of their background, can contribute to transforming society.
