✨ Shoutout to our amazing 25-26 School year New Hires - Teachers & Staff! ✨
As we reflect on this school year, we want to take a moment to recognize the incredible individuals who joined our district at the start of the year. This photo takes us back to those first days full of excitement, new beginnings, and big hopes for the year ahead when our staff heard an encouraging word from Coach Sidney Moncrief.
Since then, you’ve jumped in, built relationships, supported students, and made a meaningful impact across our schools. We’re so grateful you chose to be here and to be part of our story.
Thank you for the energy, passion, and heart you bring each day—we’re better because of you! 💙

Why she was nominated:
"Mrs.Milner is just a positive force to all she meets on the daily, including her students, fellow teachers and support staff, and administrators. She has been so supportive to our art department, leading the way to a state art competition for our students and a Conway High Art Gallery Night. She did all this with a constant smile, while completing graduate hours at UCA this year. She's one of the hardest working, talented teachers I know! I'm so thankful to get to work alongside her!

Say hello to Denisha Knapp, a Classroom Champion at Conway High School! Denisha wears many hats, teaching English 12, Oral Communication, and Biology 10. Her nominator describes her in one word as DRIVEN. She is the ultimate resource at CHS, using her deep knowledge of special education to empower her coworkers and parents alike, ensuring everyone feels equipped to best serve our students.
Why she was nominated:
"Denisha Knapp is the first person everyone at CHS calls when they are in crisis. She quietly serves in so many different places while still playing the role of teacher and mentor in the classroom. She demands excellence of herself, her coworkers, and her students. Despite forcing people out of their comfort zones in order to grow, colleagues and students flock to her for advice and support. She is easily one of the most beloved people in the building!"

We are proud to highlight an incredible partnership with Lisa’s Closet, founded in honor of the late Miss Lisa Barber—an exceptional educator in the Vilonia School District who lived a life centered on service and giving back. Today, her legacy continues through the work of her husband, Shawn Barber, along with dedicated board members who share her passion for supporting students.
Lisa’s Closet is making a meaningful impact across our elementary campuses by helping provide one of the most essential—and often first noticed—items a student wears: shoes. Currently serving four of our elementary schools, the organization will expand this fall to all nine elementary campuses, ensuring even more students have access to quality footwear.
Through strong collaboration with school counselors, Lisa’s Closet has already been meeting student needs by providing funds for shoe purchases. Now, they are going a step further—working to streamline the process by directly purchasing and delivering shoes to campuses, easing the workload on school staff while continuing to meet student needs quickly and compassionately.
This partnership reflects the very best of our Conway community. We are deeply grateful for Lisa’s Closet and their unwavering commitment to serving our students and families.

Based on 2025 performance, College Board has elevated Conway High School’s Honor Roll status from Bronze to Silver. Only 8% of school districts in Arkansas qualified for a Silver Honor Roll Rating.
At our April School Board meeting CHS Principal Dr. Worley highlighted this success and the hard work of a few of our AP instructors.
CHS currently offers a total of 24 AP courses beginning in 10th grade.
We have 846 students signed up to take AP exams in May for 1, 689 tests. (This means MOST of our students are taking more than 1 exam!)
Mrs. Shannon Bowden- AP Biology→ 87 students took the exam with an average score of 3.56. Arkansas had an average score of 2.53.
Mr. Cody Johnson- AP Language → 105 Exams taken with an average of 3.56. Arkansas had an average score of 2.66
Mrs. Nohora Tedford- AP Spanish Language → 12 students took the exam and scored an average of 4.13. Arkansas had an average score of 3.31. We have 37 students taking this exam this year.
Mr. William Richardson- AP US History → 171 tests given with an average of 3.48 and Arkansas had an average of 2.58.
Additionally, we highlighted Conway High’s School’s AP Honor Roll Recognition. In 2024, CHS was a Bronze school and we are pleased to announce that for the 2025 school year we have moved to the SILVER tier of recognition!
In the state of Arkansas 251 qualified to be considered for AP Honor Roll.
Only 49 schools in Arkansas earned a place on the AP School Honor Roll.
Help us cheer on these amazing educators, the success of our students, and Conway High School as a whole for their tremendous overall accomplishments!
We aren't stopping at just one week, though, we’re going to spend the entire month of May celebrating! Starting this Monday, May 4th, we’ll be featuring staff members who were nominated by their very own peers, the people who see their hard work and heart in action every single day. These spotlights recognize the incredible ways our team goes above and beyond for our students and schools.
Follow along all month long as we spotlight the heart of CPSD!

We celebrated our Unified Basketball teams 4 PEAT UNIFIED BASKETBALL STATE CHAMPIONSHIP! Unified Basketball creates an inclusive opportunity for special education students by promoting social connection through shared training and competition. Built on the principle of “training together and playing together,” Unified Basketball shows that sports can be a quick path to friendship, understanding, and belonging.
This year, our team won its FOURTH consecutive AAA state championship in Hot Springs. For the second year in a row, they faced a tough Bryant team and came out on top. We could not be more proud of our athletes for their hard work, dedication, and outstanding sportsmanship.
Our Unified team also took on members of the faculty in a staff-versus-students game and came away with the win. This event raised a great deal of money for our athletes and for the continued success of our program.
We are proud to recognize these students and coaches to celebrate all they have accomplished, both on and off the court!
Today, we are sending a huge "Thank You" to our amazing cafeteria teams. From the very first breakfast served to the last lunch tray cleared, these heroes keep our students fueled, healthy, and ready to learn, all with a smile. We are so grateful for the hard work and nourishment you provide our schools every single day!
