🌟 Wampus Cat Wednesday: Where Are They Now? 🌟 This week, we’re excited to feature Maegan Langley, Class of 2015! Maegan now lives in Austin, TX, and is working in the tech industry. She married her high school sweetheart, whom she met at Conway High, and he’s finishing up his computer science degree. Favorite CPSD Memories: Maegan loved her time in band and varsity tennis, both of which taught her teamwork and discipline. One personal highlight? Meeting her now-husband at Conway High! Favorite Teacher: Mrs. Francis left a lasting impression on Maegan during her school years. Advice for Students: “Focus in class and soak up what you can. To celebrate the grand opening of Burlington's new store in Conway, AR, Burlington and AdoptAClassroom.org have generously donated $5,000 to our very own Preston and Florence Mattison Elementary School. After graduating from Conway High, Amy attended UCA, where she earned a degree in Elementary Education. She now teaches 4th grade at Ellen Smith Elementary—the same school she attended as a child! In a full-circle moment, Amy even works alongside her 2nd-grade teacher. Her children now attend Ellen Smith as well, making the school a special part of her family’s history. 🌟 Wampus Cat Wednesday: Where Are They Now? 🌟 This week, we're spotlighting Mariah Oates, CPSD Class of 2014! Mariah is still proudly calling Conway home, where she lives with her 9-year-old son, Cassius. They enjoy everything sports-related, riding ATVs, and fishing together. After graduating from UCA with a Bachelor's in Health Education in 2018, Mariah went on to achieve another milestone by graduating from UALR’s Nursing program in May of 2023! Reflecting on her time at CPSD, Mariah fondly remembers staying busy—whether it was marching in the band, playing volleyball, or cheering on sports teams with friends as they traveled all over the state. Being a social butterfly made her high school years memorable, and she still beams with pride over graduating as an honor grad, which laid the foundation for her academic achievements. Mariah's favorite teacher at CPSD was Mrs. (Johnna) Smith, who undoubtedly made a lasting impact on her journey. Her advice to current CPSD students? "Keep going! Use your resources and teachers for support, and begin thinking about life after high school early. You can do it!"
