🧬 Learning Biology, Brick by Brick! 🧱
Recently, Ms. Branscum’s Advanced Biology classes used LEGO® proteins built from specific DNA sequences to model protein synthesis—the process cells use to make the proteins essential for life. Students also explored how DNA mutations can change proteins, resulting in effects that may be harmful, neutral, or even beneficial. CPSD Return to School Update

We are excited to welcome students and staff back to school on Monday, February 2nd, 2026, after a week of closures caused by the recent snow and ice storm.

All schools will operate on normal start times; however, snow bus routes will be in effect to ensure safe transportation for students. Families are encouraged to review snow route information prior to Monday morning.

🔗 Snow Bus Route Information:
CPSD Snow Routes

Our teams have continued working to prepare school campuses for a safe return. They have done a great job with sidewalks but please utilize caution in shaded areas. Also, a big shout out to the City of Conway, Faulkner County, and groups who were also a part of the clearing process. We can not thank you all enough for the hard work!

We will provide updates regarding snow make-up days as soon as that information becomes available.

Thank you for your understanding and support. We look forward to a smooth return to school on Monday.

📣 CHS Families — Important Update

Due to school closures from recent inclement weather, Conway High School has made several important adjustments to upcoming schedules. ATLAS Interim #2 testing has been revised and will now take place on Wednesday, February 4 only for all 10th grade students, as well as some juniors and seniors. Students will no longer test on both February 3 and 4 as originally planned.

Families should also note that students who previously made arrangements for community service or college visits on February 3 may still attend those activities. These absences will be excused with proper documentation, which should be turned in to the front office.

Additionally, 3rd 9 Weeks Interim Progress Reports will be sent home with students during WIN on Friday, February 6, and Parent–Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Wednesday, February 11 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

📧 Please check your inbox for a detailed email from Dr. Kate Worley, which includes full explanations and important reminders related to these updates.

If you have any questions, families are encouraged to contact the CHS front office once campus reopens.

Thank you for your flexibility and continued support of our students.

⚠️ School Closing
Conway Schools and offices will be closed Friday, January 30th, 2026.

While the warmer temperatures over the past two days have helped improve some conditions, travel throughout the district including access to side streets, driveways, and neighborhoods continues to be impacted.

Our crews are continuing to work diligently to clear each of our campuses and are preparing for a safe return to school soon.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we prioritize safety and continue to monitor conditions.

⚠️ School Closing

Conway Schools and offices will be closed Thursday, January 29th, 2026, due to icy road conditions throughout the district.

We continue to monitor conditions closely as crews work to address sidewalks, parking areas, and campus access. Many bus routes, particularly rural routes, remain impacted, and overnight low temperatures will continue to delay a safe return.

The decision to close is based on ensuring the safety of our students, staff, and families. We will communicate any additional closures or delays as conditions evolve.

Please stay safe and warm Wampus Cats!
