Out of thousands of books submitted nationwide, 487 yearbooks were chosen to be part of the 2025 Jostens Lookbook, which showcases the best books in the country. The Wampus Cat Yearbook Staff is proud to have last year's book included in this "best of the best" publication. Notable Elements of the 2024 Wampus Cat include dominant photos, unique photo illustrations, and quality usage of quotes and text. Congratulations to these student journalists on their accomplishment!

Arkansas State Championship Tournament Congratulations to the following CHS Speech & Debate team members for qualifying for the STATE TOURNAMENT! In order to qualify for the Arkansas State Championship tournament, a student has to compete at a sanctioned tournament and meet qualifying standards. The CHS Speech & Debate team has secured 59 ASC qualifications! The Arkansas Communications & Theatre Arts Association (ACTAA) is the sponsoring and governing body that hosts the Arkansas State Championship each year which is sanctioned by the Arkansas Activities Association. Students will compete May 2-3, 2025. The CHS Speech & Debate team is coached by Mrs. Casey Griffith.

A true triple threat, he’s also a talented member of the CHS band and choir. Beyond the arts, Caleb is actively involved in Black Student Union and Student Council. 🍭 Lyn McKissick (Violet Beauregarde) – Making her CHS stage debut, Lyn steps into the spotlight as Violet! While new to this stage, she’s no stranger to theatre—you can see her in Legally Blonde Jr. at Red Curtain Theatre in April and as Crystal in Little Shop of Horrors in May. 📢 Pi Day Fun at CHS! 🥧🏃‍♂️✨ CHS Math Club members and friends celebrated Pi Day on March 14 with a Pi Day Pi K! 🌟 Although storms kept us indoors (so no one actually ran 3.14km 😅), the fun didn’t stop! Congratulations to CHS Junior, Addison Choate, for being named a National Speech & Debate Association’s Academic All American! The Academic All American award recognizes high school students who have earned the degree of Superior Distinction within the NSDA Honor Society by competing in speech and debate events at tournaments; completed at least 5 semesters of high school; demonstrated outstanding character and leadership; and earned a GPA of 3.7 or higher. Fewer than 2% of National Speech & Debate Association student members earn the Academic All American award every year. This honor is an indicator of Addison’s academic achievement and competitive success. Addison is a 2-year member of the CHS Speech & Debate team and has competed across the state of Arkansas, along with tournaments in Louisiana and Philadelphia. Addison competes in Lincoln-Douglas debate, Informative Speaking and Congressional debate. She has qualified to compete at the University of Kentucky Tournament of Champions (Lexington, KY) in April. Addison is also an Arkansas State Championships tournament qualifier. Addison has competed on the CHS Mock Trial teams in both the Arkansas High School Mock Trial tournament (2024 & 2025) and the Empire Mock Trial Philadelphia tournament (2024).
