Ms. Bowden’s AP Biology students took learning beyond the classroom with an unforgettable, hands-on field trip experience! 🧬🔬

The group visited the National Center for Toxicological Research and the FDA Arkansas Human and Animal Food Laboratory, where students saw firsthand how cutting-edge biology, chemistry, and physics are used in biomedical research and to protect the safety of food for both people and pets. They even stepped into the role of scientists—participating in sensory testing of seafood and learning how experts detect insect and rodent contamination in consumer products!

After lunch, the learning continued at the Witt Stephens Jr. Central Arkansas Nature Center in Little Rock. Students explored Arkansas’s wetlands, observed live and preserved animals, and gained a deeper appreciation for conservation efforts across the state.

Experiences like this bring science to life and show our students the real-world impact of what they’re learning every day! 🌎✨

Meet the Minds Behind Conway’s Computer Science! 💻

Our Computer Science teachers bring over 70 years of combined experience, advanced degrees, and accolades—including Arkansas CS Teacher of the Year and National Board Certification.

Students can explore six CS courses, from Intro to Computer Science to AP CSA, AP CSP, Game Design II, Independent Study, and a pilot AP Cybersecurity class. Beyond the classroom, they can join Robotics (3 teams, 50+ members, 2 teams qualified for state) or Esports, competing in games like Mario Kart, Smash Brothers, Valorant, and more.

Conway CS students are state champions and national competitors, earning multiple All-State Coding Competition wins, High School Programming Competition awards, and top placements in HighSchoolHack and CTF events.

Outside of school, teachers enjoy everything from farming and running a whatnot store to hunting, traveling, and coaching sports.
